Omni Hotel and Pilot Terminal – Procedural Hearing
Diolch am wylio'r fideo. We can go, yeah, we can go, all right, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go. All right, we're ready to get started. Please call the roll. Okay. Council Member Morrell. Here. Council Member Willard. Here. Council Member McCarran. Here. We have a quorum. All right, thank you. So today is a joint Climate Change and Sustainability and Economic Development and Special Development Projects Committee meeting. We are going to take up item number 31, and I'd like to call Deputy Mayor George Schwartz down to do a brief presentation. This is related to the Omni Hotel and the Pilot Terminal. Thank you so much, Council Members. I appreciate you all scheduling this meeting. The agenda item of today is a discussion considering the Omni Hotel. We've received a lot of discussion over the last six months or so. Today is simply a procedural step in the approval process. Under the state revised statute, the Convention Center Headquarters Hotel District has to refer the pilot term sheet that was negotiated back in June with a lot of leadership on the part of the Council Members, especially those here today. And that term sheet is then referred to the Office of Economic Development at the City and has to create a report and report to the Council Economic Development Committee before it goes to the full Council for approval. So this is a procedural step in that process. I don't think everybody is intimately familiar with this project. It is really good for its attributes. This is a truly transformative project and the Office of Economic Development is a great place to start. I think this is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better, to get to know the community better, to get to know the Council better, to get to know the community better, to get to know the Council better, to get to know the Council better, to get to know the community better. Thank you. This is a very positive step for the Office of Economic Development. I think this is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better, to get to know the community better, to get to know the Council better. I think this is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better, to get to know the community better, to get to know the Council better. I want to thank Mayor Helena Moreno, I want to thank the Convention Center under Jim Cook's leadership, the Omni Hotel Group, and all of the Council members for putting in the hard work. I think we have a win here. I think this is a big financial boom, economic development move for the City of New Orleans. So with that, do we have any comments from the public? All right, I will motion to approve. It's been seconded by... All right, seconded by Council President Morrell. All in favor? Aye. Any opposed? All right, 48 zero nays, and the resolution has been adopted. Thank you, Jeff. Thank you all so much. All right, and now I will turn it over to Chairwoman McCann.
Community Solar Resolution – Contract Disclosure and Adjournment
Thank you. So one of the last things on our agenda is a resolution for community solar. This is just a contract summary disclosure that needs to be adopted to continue with the community solar projects. This has been reviewed in the docket, and there were no opposition, right? Okay. So if there are any questions, with that, I will make a motion to approve. Seconded by Council President P. Morrell. All in favor? Aye. Any opposed? Seeing none, we are approved. Motion to adjourn. Yes. Make sure both of these items go on consent for next week's council meeting. Absolutely. Thank you. All right, thank you, everyone. Thank you.
